Our journey began in 1980 when the Maharashtra Water Supply & Sewerage Board (MWSSB) initiated the Maharashtra Water Supply & Sewerage Project Stage-I. Since then, we have been entrusted with the operation and maintenance of the Shahad Temghar Water Works, serving six towns and 104 villages in the northern zone.
On March 3, 2000, Thane Municipal Corporation, Bhiwandi Nizampur City (formerly known as Municipal Council), and Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation (formerly known as Municipal Council) jointly entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Maharashtra Water Supply and Sewerage Board under Section 32 of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, 1949. On March 23, 2000, the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran transferred the existing water supply scheme to Shahad Temghar Water Supply Authority (STEM).
Our legal status and organizational structure were established through the collective efforts of Thane Municipal Corporation, Thane, Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, Bhayander, Bhiwandi Nizampur City (formerly known as Municipal Council), Bhiwandi, and Thane Zilla Parishad, Thane. A pivotal resolution was passed during their respective general meetings.
Following Government Decision No. PAPUYOHA (पापुयो)-2008/PR.CR.28/PAPU-22 on February 27, 2009, and in compliance with the Indian Companies Act, 1956, we obtained authorization to become a private company.
We diligently followed the outlined procedures and officially registered the company on December 10, 2010. This marked the beginning of our operational journey, driven by our commitment to serving the community."
